Each cottage consists of one bedroom with private bath, hot and cold water, a spacious living room, ceiling fan, screened porch, and a fully equipped kitchenette. One cottage which we jokingly call 'The Nobel Cottage' is air-conditioned and has a four poster king size bed. It is the cottage in which Derek Walcott, the 1992 Nobel Laureate for Literature spent his holidays over the years. |

Our housekeeper insures that your cottage is cleaned and bedlinen and towels are provided daily to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. You have a choice of doing your own cooking or dining out at nearby restaurants. A supermarket and laundromat are just a few minutes away. |

During your stay you can relax on our white sand beach, swim in our crystal clear waters or just watch the glorious sunset right from your cottage. If you feel more active, our friendly staff will arrange golf, tennis, island tours, scuba diving, boat charters, deep-sea fishing or car rental to let you explore St. Lucia's exquisite natural beauty. |

La Dauphine Estate, an old cocoa plantation dating back to 18th century is situated four miles from the picturesque, old French colonial town of Soufrière. This 200 acre family plantation produces bananas, cocoa, coconuts, citrus fruits, flowers, nutmeg and a variety of vegetables. |

The La Dauphine Great House and the Chateau Laffitte, two estate houses located in the heart of this tropical plantation are nestled in a lush green hillside surrounded by luxuriant gardens, flagrant with exotic flowers. |

The La Dauphine Great House with its decorative gingerbread fretwork, jalousie windows and the wooden shutters was originally built in 1890 has been refurbished to combine old colonial charm with all the modern conveniences. |

Imagine......lying in a hammock being caressed by cool mountain breezes looking out to one of the Pitons, half-mile high mountains once worshipped as Amerindian Gods....reaching out and picking breakfast from the orange, grapefruit, and mango trees growing into the veranda....eating a tasty Creole meal with fresh vegetables grown on the plantation prepared at the house by the housekeeper or dining at a country restaurant specialising in local cuisine a few minutes walk away....touring this scenic plantation with the estate manager and learning how the various crops are grown and processed or hiking along nature trails, stopping at picnic areas with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and Caribbean Sea....bathing in a hot waterfall surrounded by the lush green canopy of the rain forest teeming with fauna and flora....walking through the Sulphur Springs, a seven acre volcanic crater with clouds of steam rising from its boiling cauldrons....snorkelling or scuba diving in the crystal clear waters of the Anse Chastanet marine park, a complete, exiting underwater world, alive with a host of strange and wonderful creatures....lying back and relaxing on a beach as the hot tropical sun blazes from the deep blue sky and warm, balmy breezes stir the palm fronds, then cooling off with a swim into the sapphire blue Caribbean Sea with the breathtaking Pitons towering above. |
